Three arrested for burglaries

BOGOR (JP): Three men were arrested for a series of robberies on bungalows and villas in the hilly resort area of Puncak on Wednesday, police announced on Thursday.

Bogor Police chief Lt. Col. Ade Husen Kartadipura told reporters on Thursday that the three, identified as Misbach, Surip and Ade, were picked up at their residences in a silent operation led by First Lt. Ogiyanto.

"Misbach and Surip were arrested at about 4:00 a.m. at their homes in Cibeureum, while Ade was apprehended minutes later at his home in Cisarua," Lt. Col. Ade said, adding that police seized a water pump, several sets of electronics goods and a lawnmower, believed to be the stolen items.

The three admitted to having operated several times around Puncak, along with another eight accomplices.

Ogiyanto said that besides Misbach's group, another group of criminals, led by Andreas, had also become a police target.

The groups allegedly robbed the Cibogo farm, which belongs to a businessman named Halim, Ogiyanto said. "The three also admitted to having robbed an Arabian family of cash at a villa in Tugu. They made away with Rp 200 million and a large amount of Saudi's riyal." (21/sur)
