Threats close Sigli govt offices

SIGLI, Aceh: Most government offices in Pidie regency were
closed on Friday following a reported threat by separatist
guerrillas to shut down offices on Oct. 1.

Almost all 95 offices in the regency were closed and civil
servants who did show up wore plainclothes.

"We choose to observe the situation carefully," said a civil
servant who asked for anonymity.

It was unclear whether civil servants would return to work on
