Thousands fail civil servants test

BEKASI: More than half of 6,567 applicants applying for 125 jobs at the Bekasi administration failed at the first hurdle, an official said on Friday.

"Only 2,824 of the applicants qualified to take the screening tests, which will be held on Sunday," Bekasi administration spokesman Cecep Sutandi said.

Of those who passed the initial screening, 513 had university degrees, 94 had two-year diploma certificates, 65 had graduated from three-year diploma courses, 1,862 were high school graduates and the remainder junior high school graduates.

Cecep claimed the hiring process would be corruption free. -- Antara
