Thorough measures badly needed
YOGYAKARTA: The government's efforts to combat malaria and dengue outbreaks across the archipelago will be fruitless unless they are undertaken in an integrated and coordinated manner, a senior expert said on Thursday.
Indonesian Mosquito Control Association (APNI) president Sugeng Juwono Mardihusodo said here that the measures included spraying, creating good sanitation, eliminating mosquito breeding places and using anti-mosquito agents.
Malaria and dengue outbreaks have been recorded in various parts of the country over the past few months, and have killed dozens people across the archipelago. -- JP
