Third Citisuccess Fund launched

JAKARTA: Citibank Peka and Hope Worldwide Indonesia launched on Thursday the third CitiSuccess Fund aimed at encouraging high school teachers to find more creative and inspiring ways of teaching their students.

Teachers in four cities -- Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Surabaya -- are required to submit their proposals before the May 6 deadline. This year's topics are the same as last year's, focusing on English, pluralism and life skills.

During the first phase, Citibank will select the 200 best proposals and award Rp 5 million (US$526) to each of the selected teachers. The announcement of the winners is expected to take place in June while the implementation period for the proposals will be between July and December.

The jury will then pick the 10 best proposals in the final round, and these will be announced early next year. The 10 winners will receive Rp 5 million each and their schools will receive Rp 10 million each.

During the event, Hope also launched the Aksi Guru newsletter, which is aimed at improving communications between teachers.
