Thieves break into PPP official's car

JAKARTA: Auto thieves broke the left front window of a
Sangyong sedan belonging to United Development Party (PPP)
Jakarta branch leader Endin AJ Soefihara on Sunday.

The theft took place during a meeting between PPP leader and
Vice President Hamzah Haz, and the National Awakening Party (PKB)
chief patron Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, who is also former
president, outside the president director of Bank Mandiri ECW
Neloe's official house on Jl. Aditiawarman 20, South Jakarta --
an elite residential area where many high-ranking state officials
live.

Thieves entered the car through the broken window, taking the
car's audio system and television. Endin could not estimate the
material losses he suffered.

A security guard at Neloe's house, Dwi Santoso, was quoted by
Kompas Cyber Media as saying that the theft was a first for the
heavily guarded area. -- JP
