Thievery in the Cathedral

BOGOR: A churchgoer lost her bag which was left unattended on Wednesday morning as she went to the altar to receive communion.

The victim, who asked for anonymity, said she normally went to the Cathedral in Bogor on her own, and was surprised to find that her bag, containing her wallet, a cellular phone and personal items, was missing. She said that she often left her bag on the seat when she went to receive holy communion and so far nothing bad happened.

One of the congregation told her that she saw a woman taking her bag, but she had no idea that the woman was a thief.

When the victim reported the crime to the priest, she learned that a high school student had suffered a similar experience.--JP
