Thief stripped, beaten to death

BOGOR (JP): Twenty-five-year-old Enjay, a resident of Saumeni village, was stripped and beaten to death on Wednesday by a mob in Mekar Wangi village of Tanah Sareal here after he was allegedly spotted attempting to steal a motorbike in the area.

Enjay died as a result of severe wounds to the head, face and chest.

Another alleged culprit, identified as Imansyah, escaped the mob, leaving his friend behind.

The mobbing was sparked when the motorcycle owner, Danun, saw the two men fiddling with his motorbikes. Instead of heeding Danun's warning, the two men began to push the motorbike away.

Locals were quick to respond to Danun's screams for help, managing to trap one of the men.

Bogor Police, who later arrived at the scene, removed Enjay's body for a postmortem examination. (21/edt)
