Theft in hospital
I was hospitalized at Mitra Kemayoran Hospital recently and had a bad experience. On Nov. 3, 2000, at about 2 a.m., I had problems sleeping. So I called the nurse and she gave me a sleeping pill, after which l slept well. At about 7 a.m., my brother, who had stayed the night in the hospital, woke me up to say that his mobile phone had disappeared. In fact, there was no one else in the room except my brother and I.
We reported the theft to the security staff in the hope that they would handle the problem appropriately. Instead, we were told the hospital management was not responsible for the loss of the mobile phone since nurses were only responsible for the patients. We were dismayed by this statement.
What if someone comes into the room and did something that resulted in the death of the patient? That morning no nurses came to my room to take my temperature as they usually did.
I was told that this was not the first theft at Mitra Kemayoran Hospital but nobody had bothered to complain to the management.
We hope the hospital management will give a satisfactory explanation regarding this matter.
