The UN's Bosnia stand

The so-called civilized international community should have felt the pangs of conscience when Serb killers dashed across the supposedly safe zones in Bosnia-Herzegovina and massacred women and children.

This international community, allegedly the fruit of the new world order stitched together after the end of the Cold War between the superpowers, should have also abandoned its suspicious and passive role toward the war fueled against innocent Moslem people in these supposedly safe zones.

The only fair and just response is to make haste to mount a flow of arms to the disadvantaged Moslems, who only receive hollow promises from the so-called guardians of the new world order.

There is now no more room for carefully-worded messages or meek appeals from the United Nations to the Serb death squads to slow down their torture and atrocities against helpless people. The United Nations will never survive the humiliation and disgrace heaped on it in the bloody fiasco of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
