DETROIT: BHP Steel will amaze the world in February next year when its high-tech ultralight steel car body is unveiled.

The $28 million project involves 35 steel companies around the world and will make its debut at the Society of Automotive Engineers conference in Detroit.

Hailed as a breakthrough in automotive design, the project was started to combat the feared rise in aluminum-bodied cars for the next century.
