The hunt for souvenirs

BUSAN, South Korea: The Busan 2002 Asian Games is already in its final stages, with the closing ceremony planned for Monday evening at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.

The usually hectic Main Press Center (MPC) at the Busan Expo and Convention Center (BEXCO) has become more spacious compared with the peak time of the Games as China once again secures its domination in the quadrennial event.

Many Indonesian reporters now have plenty of time to go sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs for coworkers and relatives back home. The Kukje market in Nampo-dong and Seomyeon are the favored haunts for souvenirs.

The most favorite are Asiad-related items, such as T-shirts and pins. Leftovers of the FIFA 2002 World Cup are also available.-- JP
