The disgraced Net

At the Computer Exhibition in October 1996 I opened an Internet account with D-Net. However after many, many hours of trying I was unable to access it. I made numerous complaints by phone and fax before the company finally sent their "technician" to help me -- two novice technicians who knew very little about Internet communication and its set up. They failed to solve the problem and I had to lodge more complaints via faxes and phone calls before they finally promised to close my account and refund my money.

I told employees of D-Net verbally and wrote a letter on Dec. 2, 1996 revoking the authority to debit my credit card account. However, not only did I not get my full refund from the company but they continued to debit my Visa card without authorization and for services they could not provide. This is tantamount to blatant theft.

When my visa Card provider reversed the charges, I received a vulgar letter from D-Net threatening to disclose my private information to the whole world. What a disgrace!

The company supposedly has a 24-hour phone support service but the phone was either continuously engaged or unattended. I had tried to call the number at all hours without success. I suspect it is a fictitious phone.

I hope D-Net is professional and honest enough to keep their promise and refund my money.
