The attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon in the United States was not only an act of evil which struck at the heart of the free and democratic world, killing thousands of innocent people.

The terror also is a threat to the whole global economy and will almost certainly further set back the recovery of the U.S. economy, which has wobbled along since the beginning of this year.

Economists predict this horror will cause the American economy to grow by much less than the 1.5 percent projected earlier for this year. We (Thailand), like so many other countries of the world, will surely suffer the knock-on effect.
