Thai Navy officer pays courtesy call
SURABAYA: Governor of the Thai Naval Academy, Vice Adm. Viroj
Yonvenaggon, arrived at the Indonesian Navy's Eastern Fleet base
here on Monday for a three-day visit to the country.
Viroj, who led 100 Thai naval academy cadets on a goodwill
mission to Asia and Europe, was welcomed by the fleet commander,
Rear Adm. Edi Suyadi.
The foreign entourage came in on two warships.
Spokesman for the fleet, Lt. Col. Ditya Soedarsono, told
Antara that during his visit, Viroj was scheduled to pay a
courtesy call to his Indonesian counterpart, Rear Adm. Fritz
Mantiri.
The Thai cadets will participate in sports competitions
against their Indonesians counterparts, Ditya said. (amd)
