Thai fisherman tests HIV-positive

AMBON, Maluku: Another Thai fisherman has tested positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the Maluku office of the Ministry of Health said Saturday.

The latest finding brings the number of Thai fishermen in Maluku with the virus to five. Altogether, the province has 17 HIV cases, Antara said.

Many Thais work as crew on fishing boats that operate in the waters around Maluku. Most of them are concentrated in Tual, the capital of Southeast Maluku. (09)
