Textile trader stabbed to death
JAKARTA (JP): A textile trader was stabbed to death on Thursday by five unidentified men in Jl. Kampung Rawa, Johar Baru district, Central Jakarta.
Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira confirmed the killing of Defrison Antonius, 25.
"Defrison was stabbed in the back and neck. He died instantly at the scene of the crime," Abubakar said yesterday.
He said the killers were still at large.
Defrison's wife, Sophia, told the police that her husband, a textile trader in Senen market, in Central Jakarta, had no enemies.
She said her husband was killed by two strangers who came to her house on Jl. Ciracas Timur, East Jakarta, on Thursday evening.
Defrison and Sophia had been married for only nine months.
It was the second murder in Central Jakarta this month. The first murder took place in Tanah Abang on June 1. The victim, Sarwo Edi, was stabbed when trying to protect a female companion from robbers. (jun)
