Textile factory requires 50 workers

DILI: The East Timor Ministry of Manpower office will need 50 employees at a textile factory, which will be opened next week.

Head of the ministry office, Mudjihartono said yesterday that his office would cooperate with the province's local investment coordinating board (BKPMD) in the recruitment.

"We are obliged to help the company get workers, but the company will recruit skilled staff it needs by itself," he said.

He said that the textile company, the first in the province, would need workers and staff with qualifications ranging from secondary education to academic levels.

Local job seekers would be given first priority in filling nonacademic level posts, while skilled staff would be preferred from outer provinces, Mujihartono said. "But, it depends on BKPMD and the factory."

The first textile factory is scheduled to be opened by Minister of Industry and Trade Tunky Aribowo. (33/sur)
