Texmaco wants 100 outlets

JAKARTA (JP): PT Texmaco Graha Busana (TGB) plans to open about 100 textile outlets in Indonesia and Asian countries by the end of the year, its general manager, Parikshit Sharma said yesterday.

"Indonesia is potentially a very big market, and we hope to get an about Rp 10 billion turnover this year," he said.

TGB opened its 52nd retail outlet, called Accent, in Blok M Plaza here yesterday.

TGB has grown rapidly, from 12 outlets in 1994 to 52 outlets.

Sharma said his company still focused on Indonesia's big cities, but was eying some smaller towns.

"After we cover the Indonesian market, we want to cover the Asian regional market as well. We haven't plans to cover European markets," he said.

The company began cooperating with large department stores in Singapore and Malaysia this year to market Texmaco's fabric and clothing, he said.

TGB is a subsidiary of publicly listed PT Texmaco Jaya of the Texmaco Group, Indonesia's largest producer of polyester fabric and textile machinery. (08)
