Terror suspects transferred to Bali

DENPASAR, Bali: Five terror suspects arrested recently in Surakarta, Central Java, arrived in Bali on Wednesday to face questioning over their alleged roles in the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people.

Bali Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Pengasihan Gaut said the suspects would also be quizzed over the whereabouts of suspected Malaysian masterminds Azahari and Noordin Moh Top.

"One of them is believed to have funded the escape of Azahari and Noordin. The two will also be confronted with prisoners convicted of the Bali attacks to verify their involvement," he added. --JP
