Terror suspect worried about children

DENPASAR, Bali: Ali Gufron alias Mukhlas, the main suspect in the terrorist bomb attacks in Legian, wants all his children to be brought to Solokuro village in Lamongan, East Java.

M. Sya'af, Mukhlas' lawyer, said that Ali Gufron's five children were being taken care of by his friend in Klaten, where Mukhlas was arrested.

Mukhlas, who is believed by the intelligence services to have replaced Hambali as the coordinator of Jemaah Islamiyah for Southeast Asia, was concerned about the education of his children, aged between 3 and 11.

Sya'af added that his client had asked police to bring the children to the house of Qosim and Djafar Sodik, who are ustad ( religious teachers) in Solokuro village.

Qosim and Djafar Sodik are brothers of Mukhlas and run the Al- Islam boarding house in Lamongan. - Antara
