Tenants complain over poor facilities

TANGERANG: Tenants of Amartapura Condominium in Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, filed a lawsuit against developer PT Lippo Hyunday Development with the Tangerang District Court on Monday over the premises' poor facilities.

The tenants' representatives, Victor Purba and Nurmansyah Soleiman, said the company was yet to upgrade and build sports and recreation facilities and a connecting bridge, which had been described in promotional brochures when PT Lippo started selling spaces in 1997.

According to the tenants' lawyer, Anwar Supenas, his clients had compiled a list of 26 shortfalls of the apartments.

"We demand a total of Rp 27 billion in damages, due to the conditions we have endured since 1997," he said.

The Amartapura Condominium has two buildings with a total of 725 apartments, 60 percent of which are occupied by expatriates, mostly South Koreans. -- JP
