Ten officers promoted
JAKARTA (JP): Ten ABRI officers were promoted a rank, the Antara news agency reported yesterday.
A release from ABRI's Information Center said the promotion would be reported to Armed Forces Chief Gen. Feisal Tanjung today.
Four of the officers were from the army, three from the navy, two from the air force, and one from the military police.
The army's Brig. Gen. R. Salamun, also the secretary to the State Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, became a Major General and First Admiral R. M. Marjono became Rear Admiral.
The Air Force's Brig. Gen. Soeryahadi Djatmiko became a Major General.
An army officer of the Ministry of Transportation, the head of Directorate of Land Transportation, Sonny Baskono became a Brigadier General.
Ismet Herdy, a member of the Vice President's secretariat in charge of mass media also became a Brigadier General.
Vice President Try Sutrisno's assistant Kusma Wiradisastra, in charge of international affairs, became a Brigadier General.
A staff member of the Secretariat for Management of Development Operations, Artillery Col. Moch. Yusuf Soebagio, and Irian Jaya's deputy governor Marine Col. Abraham O. Artururi, were made Brigadier Generals. (10)
