Ten killed in traffic accidents
KEBUMEN, Central Java: Ten people died instantly in two separate road accidents in Kebumen and Demak Saturday.
The first accident took place in Kebumen when Bagus Putu Bimoki, 17, lost control of the car he was driving and hit a 14- year-old pedestrian. The car then smashed into a tree before plunging into a river. The driver, the pedestrian and another man who was in the car were all killed.
On the same day, seven people were killed in a head-on collision in Demak. A bus from the direction of Semarang hit another bus coming from the opposite direction at high speed.
Seven passengers in the two buses died, while more than 10 others were injured. (wah/sim)
