Ten Chinese people arrested

BOGOR: Ten Chinese citizens have been arrested in Bogor and Sukabumi in the past two months for immigration violations.

The head of the Bogor immigration office, T. Syahrizal, said that three of the foreigners had been deported while the others were being detained in the quarantine center pending deportation.

The foreigners were on business visas, but were found to have violated the rules by operating as traders and selling their merchandise, including electronic goods and toys, directly to consumers.

Four of them were arrested by the police in Raja Inn on Friday and Saturday. Two others were arrested on Sunday by immigration officers in Pasar Anyar Bogor and another one in Sukabumi bus terminal.--JP
