Temanggung in clean city contest
TEMANGGUNG, Central Java: Temanggung has been appointed to represent Indonesia in an upcoming competition for cleanliness among cities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Antara reported yesterday.
Head of the Central Java environmental office, Enny Soemargo, said a team from the United Nations' Education Science and Cultural Organization is expected to evaluate the town.
Temanggung, a town of 637,868 people, has received various national awards for cleanliness, including four Adipura awards and five Adipura Kencana awards. (09)
