Telkomsel serves Lombok

JAKARTA (JP): Cellular operator PT Telkomsel has expanded its
service coverage to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara with its
subscriber identity module card SimPATI Nusantara special Lombok
number.

People in Lombok will now have their own home location
register number (HLR), so they will no longer be charged with
roaming fees while in Lombok, Telkomsel director Muha Tambunan
was quoted by Antara as saying in Lombok after SimPATI's
launching ceremony on Friday night.

The launch was marked by a signing of a plaque by the governor
of West Nusa Tenggara Harun Al Rasyid, witnessed by Muha and R.
Hermanses, Telkomsel general manager for the East Java, Bali, and
Nusa Tenggara region.

Muha said his company is also building three new base
transceiver stations in Praya, Central Lombok; Selong, East
Lombok; and Gili Terawangan, West Lombok to secure constant radio
transmissions over the area. (10)
