Telkomsel raises tariff

JAKARTA (JP): Operator of GSM cellular service Telkomsel announced on Thursday it would raise the call usage tariff for its prepaid product, simPATI, between one percent and 33 percent.

The company said that the raise, however, will only affect local and domestic long distance (SLJJ) calls while the tariff for international calls will remain the same.

Telkomsel said it has to raise the tariff so that it can improve its services by developing new facilities, especially the companies' lines and networks.

The new tariff will be effective from Oct. 1. (cst)
