Telkom's subsidiaries

JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Finance is studying the feasibility for the planned establishment of two subsidiaries by the state-owned domestic telecommunications company PT Telkom.

Telkom's development director, Koesmarihati Sugondo, told The Jakarta Post here yesterday that the two planned subsidiaries will include PT Sambungan Komunikasi Satelit Perminyakan (SKSP) and PT Batamindo.

She said that Sambungan Komunikasi, which will be a joint venture between Telkom and the state oil company Pertamina, will provide satellite communications for oil refineries, in which its likely Telkom will control a stake of about 20 percent to 30 percent.

Telkom will own a maximum of a 30 percent stake in Batamindo, which will be set up jointly with Singapore Telecom.

Telkom currently has nine subsidiaries, including PT Satelindo, PT Ratelindo, PT Pasific Satelit Nusantara, PT Bangtelindo, PT Telekomindo, PT Lintas Artha, PT Citra Sari Makmur, PT Celcom and PT Yellow Pages. The establishment of two more subsidiaries, PT Primacom and PT Inphilcom, is still being processed.(icn)
