Telkom won't sell subsidiaries

JAKARTA (JP): State-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom denied on Thursday rumors that it would sell its shares in nine of its subsidiaries.

Telkom's investor relations unit head Setiawan Sulistyono said in a statement that the company has no intention of selling its stakes in PT Citra Sari Makmur, PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara, PT Telekomindo Primabhakti, PT Batam Bintan Telekomunikasi, PT Komselindo, PT Satelindo, PT Telesera, PT Mobisel and PT Menara Jakarta.

Earlier, Telkom's director of operations and marketing Komarudin Sastrakoesoemah confirmed that the company intended to sell some of its subsidiaries as part of its corporate plan, but declined to elaborate further.

The Jakarta Post previously quoted Antara news service as reporting that Telkom would divest its shares in the nine companies. (tnt)
