Telkom offers holiday telegrams

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta chapter of the state-owned
telecommunications company PT Telkom will start serving public
demand for decorative Christmas and New Year greeting telegrams
tomorrow.

Djaman Sinaga, speaking for the company, said here yesterday
that Telkom has prepared 220,000 telegrams, comprising 149,000
Christmas greetings and 71,000 New Year greetings.

He said that the telegrams have been distributed to
telecommunications units throughout the city's five mayoralties.

"The service will last until Jan. 10. People just have to pay
Rp 500 for each decorative holiday greeting telegram to be sent
to addressees all over the country," he said. (icn)
