Telkom names new board of directors

State-owned telephone operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia named its new board of directors late on Friday with Kristiono taking over as the new managing director from M. Nazief.

Previously, Kristiono was Telkom's Director for Planning and Technology.

The shareholders' meeting also appointed economist Arif Arryman as an independent commissioner and retained Bacellius Ruru as the company's chief commissioner, Detik.Com reported.

Agus Utoyo, Telkom's head of restructuring projects, was appointed as the new director of human resources, while Garuda Sugardo, the operational and technical director of state-owned telecommunications firm PT Indosat, was named as the new director of operations and marketing.

Suryatim Setyawan, a Telkom special advisor, was appointed as the new director of planning and technology, while Guntur Siregar, Indosat's business director, was appointed as the new director of finance.

Telkom also said on Friday that it had canceled a plan to issue US$100 million in bonds after the government raised concerns over its plans to raise debt overseas while it generates its revenue in local currency. -- JP
