Telkom, BSI to develop phone lines

JAKARTA: State-owned telecommunications firm PT Telkom and Bukaka Singtel International (BSI) signed on Wednesday an agreement to develop telephone facilities in Manado, North Sulawesi.

The agreement was signed by Telkom president Muhammad Nazif and BSI president Ng Jin Hiok.

Telkom said that some 55,375 telephone lines and other supporting facilities would be developed in the area.

It added that the project, expected to be completed in 12 months, was aimed at meeting growing telecommunication demands in eastern Indonesia. -- JP
