Telecoms tennis opened

JAKARTA (JP): The minister of tourism, post and
telecommunications, Joop Ave, and the Indonesian Tennis
Association's chairman, Sarwono Kusumaatmadja, opened the 1997
Telecommunications Tennis championships at the Senayan tennis
complex yesterday.

Twenty-eight companies are participating in the event which
features under-70-year-old-doubles, the 71 years old to 80 years
old doubles and over-81-year-old-doubles.

The championship, which will end tomorrow, will be played on
the clay courts. The semifinals and the final will be played on
rebound ace. (yan)
