Tegal to host badminton circuit

SEMARANG (JP): Over 1,000 players nationwide have confirmed
their entry to the National Badminton Circuit to be held at Sinar
Mutiara and Wisanggeni sport halls in Tegal next week.

"This season ending tournament has a quality of its own
because two top rated national players, Jeffer Rosobin and Yudi
Suprayogi, will take part in it," chairman of the Central Java
chapter of the Badminton Association of Indonesia, Soenjoto, said
on Saturday.

The organizing committee has so far registered a total of
1,094 shuttlers, either junior or senior. They comprise 576 men's
and 287 women's singles players, 131 men's and 73 women's doubles
teams, and 31 mixed doubles pairs.

The event will run from Tuesday through Saturday. A welcome
party, instead of an opening ceremony, will precede the
tournament, Soenjoto said. (har)
