Teenagers celebrate World Cup

AKARTA: The Hotel Indonesia roundabout on Jl. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, turned into a sea of red when a total of 2002 teenagers, clad in red outfits, flocked to the spot on Sunday.

Each of them carried a ball and marched towards the Bung Karno Stadium in South Jakarta in celebration of the World Cup. Some of them also carried World Cup banners. The parade was highlighted by a group of cheerleaders who boosted the participants' spirits with their provocative movements along the way to the stadium.

Dozens of Metromini buses followed behind.

The parade, sponsored by Coca Cola, was registered in the Indonesian Museum of Records.--JP
