Teen golf meet starts today

JAKARTA (JP): More than 90 teenagers are expected to tee off in the Tugu Pratama Open Teenage Amateur Golf Championships at the Matoa golf course in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, today.

Championship organizer Budi Santoso said yesterday that as of yesterday morning, 63 junior golfers had confirmed their participation in the tournament which runs through Friday. They come from various golf clubs in Cilacap, Semarang in Central Java, Yogyakarta, Riau, Mataram in West Nusa Tenggara and Jakarta.

"Singapore will be represented by four golfers, but Malaysia and Thailand have withdrawn," Santoso said. (arf)
