Teen boutique catches fire

JAKARTA: The Bule & Lucy Collection clothing boutique on Jl. Panglima Polim V in South Jakarta caught fire on Wednesday around noon, but no fatalities were reported.

Preliminary indications are that it was caused by an electrical short circuit, but police officers are still investigating.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire less than an hour after it began at about 12:45 p.m.

The fire caused heavy traffic congestion in the residential area, in which most of the homes have been converted to businesses.

The police were also trying to assess the amount of losses incurred. -- JP
