Teachers get how-tos on going green

BOGOR: Dozens of high school teachers in Cianjur, Sukabumi and Purwakarta, West Java, are learning about environmental education held at the Cibodas Botanical Gardens.

The classes started on Tuesday and will end on Thursday, gardens head Holif Imamudin said on Wednesday.

"The 41 teachers in this class are our focal points; they will teach the children about the environment and how to preserve it from an early age," he told The Jakarta Post.

The teachers also have the chance to share information on environmental issues with environmental education experts Steve Meredith from Adelaide Botanical Garden, Australia, and Brian Johnson from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. -- JP
