Tarub appointed DPA deputy chief
JAKARTA: Former chief of the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) Lt. Gen. (ret) Tarub was elected the new deputy chief/head of the security and defense commission of the Supreme Advisory Council (DPA) on Friday, Antara reported.
Tarub replaces Lt. Gen. (ret) Suparman Ahmad, who passed away last Friday.
Tarub gained 17 of the 33 votes cast in the ballot at the DPA members' meeting, led by DPA chairman A.A. Baramuli. Twelve members of the council were absent during the meeting. (edt)
