Tangerang to hold golf tourney

TANGERANG, Banten: To mark its 10 anniversary on Feb. 28, the
Tangerang municipality will hold a golf tournament at the Modern
Land golf course.

Organizing committee chairwoman Iryani Mansur said that 100 of
the expected 150 participants had registered for the tournament,
which is scheduled to start on March 2.

The participants will compete for four cups, courtesy of the
minister of home affairs, minister of tourism and culture,
minister of trade and industry and the governor of Banten.

Tangerang Mayor M. Thamrin said it was hoped that the
tournament would encourage tourists and foreign investors to come
to the municipality. JP
