Tangerang to have an integrated lab

TANGERANG: Tangerang municipal administration will build an integrated laboratory in Batu Ceper subdistrict in 2004 in a bid to support study from students in elementary, junior and senior high school levels.

Chief of Tangerang Education Agency, Harry Mulya Zain, said on Thursday that many schools in the municipality could not afford to provide a laboratory in their respective school

"The integrated laboratory will have three laboratories for language, chemistry and biology subjects," he said.

Harry also said that the agency would revoke decree staying that certain schools having a laboratory were included as favorite schools.

"Starting in January, all schools in Tangerang will have an equal status so the quality on education will also be the same," he said.

Harry said that the agency would also allow students to use used books after receiving protest from parents who complained that their children must buy new books every new academic year. -- JP
