Tangerang gets first five-star
JAKARTA (JP): Tangerang, one of the capital's buffer zone areas, now has its first five-star hotel with the operation of the Imperial Century Hotel & Resort.
Malcolm McLauchlan, the hotel's general manager, announced on Saturday that the 200-room accommodations facility, located in the Lippo Village complex, marked its soft opening on Sept. 26.
Malcolm McLauchlan said that the facility, which is owned by the Lippo Group, is managed by the Hong Kong-based Century International Hotel, which also manages the 630-room Hotel Atlet Century Park in Jakarta and the 220-room Century Yogya International Hotel in Yogyakarta.
The hotel is equipped with various facilities, including Indonesian, Asian and Continental restaurants and cafes, a bar and lounge, health and fitness centers, business centers and conference halls.
Maya Sukarno, who is on the sales department staff, said that the marketing of the hotel will be focused on the increasing number of domestic and foreign businessmen in Tangerang, the home of over 2,000 medium and large-scale industrial companies.
"The hotel is currently offering a discount of 50 percent in a bid to attract new customers," she said.
The hotel is expected to be officially opened by the end of next month, as soon as the construction of Country Club, one of its supporting facilities, is completed. (hhr)
