Tangerang Center to be built in Serpong

TANGERANG: The Tangerang Regency Administration plans to build
the Tangerang Center in Serpong district to accommodate and
promote products of small and medium enterprises.

"The Tangerang Center will be provided for small and medium
enterprises that want to promote their products," said head of
the Regency Trade and Industry Agency Tjetje Syamas on Wednesday.

He said that large enterprises that wanted to use the center
as a place to promote their industrial products would also be
welcomed.

The construction work is planned to begin early next year.

Syamas refused to mention the allocated budget for the
construction nor the exact location in Serpong.

He said that the administration has urged large trade centers
including Lippo Supermal, Bumi Serpong Damai Plaza, Bintaro
plaza, Giant and WTC Matahari to also build partnerships with
small and medium-sized enterprises. -- JP

Four arrested for motorcycle theft

BEKASI: Bekasi Police arrested four suspects in a motorcycle
theft case early on Wednesday and seized a dozen stolen
motorcycles.

Bekasi Police chief of detectives Comr. Hendro Pandowo said
that the suspects were Sukarman, 37, Djumirin, 28, Edi Djunaidi,
25 and Rahono, 35.

Police managed to arrest the gang after Edi's neighbors tipped
off the police.

Police arrested Edi at his home in Jaka Sampurna subdistrict,
Bekasi. Edi admitted that he bought the motorcycle for only Rp 2
million (US$235.30) from suspects Sukarman and Djumirin.

Both suspects were apprehended in Kranji subdistrict, Bekasi.
Police officers shot Djumirin in the leg as he tried to resist
arrest.

The three admitted that the motorcycles were bought by Rahono,
who was later arrested in Tambelang district, Bekasi. -- Antara
