Taiwanese tourists discover Brastagi

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Taiwanese tourists these past few months have begun spending weekends at Brastagi nature resort in Tana Karo district in North Sumatra province.

Antara reported here on Friday that dozens of Taiwanese tourists arrived at Polonia Airport here and proceeded to the cool Brastagi resort, 80 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital of Medan.

On the road to Brastagi resort where tourists can eat pungent durian and enjoy the cool climate of Bukit Barisan hill, where temperatures are always below 20 degrees Celsius. Bukit Barisan is also home to six hot springs.

The tourists spend the weekend at inns near the hot springs. -- Antara
