Taiwan to stage travel fair in Jakarta

JAKARTA: Taiwan will stage a travel fair in Jakarta on Thursday
to promote its image in Indonesia and attract Indonesian
tourists, the Taipei Economic and Trade Office's representative
in Indonesia, David Lin, said in a statement.

"The Taiwan Travel Fair 2005 will be held at the Hotel
Shangri-La in Jakarta on Thursday. The event's main objectives
are to introduce the Taiwan will touch your heart image to
Indonesian society, attract Indonesian tourists to Taiwan and
enhance cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia in the field of
cultural exchanges," the statement said.

Several Taiwan companies, including China Airlines, Eva
Airlines and Chinatrust Bank, will participate in the fair. There
will also be a photo exhibition on Taiwan.

Indonesia does not maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan
due to its One China policy. -- JP
