Taiwan official meets Gambian leader
JAKARTA: Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) representative to Indonesia David Y.L. Lin met with Gambian President Yahya Jammeh in Jakarta, the TETO said in a press release.
"David briefed President Jammeh about the trade cooperation, especially in the agriculture sector, between Taiwan and Indonesia. Taiwan has been sending agricultural technical missions to Indonesia to help the latter in developing modern technology in agriculture as well agricultural trade," the statement said.
Jammeh told David that Gambia and Taiwan have very close relations. Taiwan had provided assistance in agricultural sector to Gambia on a large scale.
Several Gambian ministers and David's deputy Bruce Fuh were present at the meeting, which was held at Hotel Mulia.
Jammeh visited Jakarta last week to boost his country's relations with Indonesia. -- JP
