Taekwondo athletes to train in S. Korea

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will send four taekwondo athletes for training in South Korea in preparation for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

The National Sports Council's (KONI) deputy chief of media and promotion, Ahmed Solihin, identified the athletes as Juana Wangsa Putri of Jakarta, Sinta Berliana Heru and Pino Indra of West Java and Deri Darmansyah of Central Java.

He said that Satrio Rahadani, who earned a silver medal in the 13th Asian Games in Bangkok last December, earlier left for training in South Korea.

KONI chairman Wismoya Arismunandar expressed hope that the athletes could make optimum use of the training opportunity. (ivy)
