Symposium on typhoid fever
DENPASAR, Bali: Minister of Health Dr Sujudi is scheduled to open the third Asia-Pacific symposium on the prevention of typhoid fever and other types of salmonellosis in Sanur, Bali, next Monday.
The four-day discussion is being held by the Indonesian Society for Microbiology, and will be attended by world renowned microbiologists such as Dr Pratiwi Sudarmono of Indonesia, Dr Edmundo Calva of Mexico, Prof Tikki Pang of Malaysia and Prof Martin Altwegg of Switzerland.
The symposium will deal with global epidemiology, the prevention of typhoid fever and the role of vaccination. (swe)
