YOGYAKARTA: Rescue workers are still searching for Basuki
Rahmad, a domestic tourist from Ngawi, East Java, who was swept
out to sea by strong currents near the Parangtritis tourist
resort, some 30 kilometers south of Yogyakarta on Sunday.
"We and other rescue workers from Bantul are still searching
for the body of Basuki," Adj. Comr. Hadi Prayitno, chief of the
detective section of the Bantul Police Precinct, said here on
Tuesday.
The incident occurred when the victim along with three friends
were dragged off into the sea by strong currents as they were
swimming. Basuki's friends were rescued later on Sunday.
Over the last ten months, some 25 tourists have been swept out
to sea and five are still missing and presumed dead. --Antara
